If the world is as big as people say it is then surely we have to break it down into the things we can understand. There is time to decipher the world through the routine of everyday.
" Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend " wrote Theophrastus (372 BC - 287 BC). Most of people think " time is money ". For me, time is love or love is time.
From there a project was born by opening the debate on the systematic of collaboration, exploring the reciprocal nature of contemporary art practice and the unique potential of video art, being both critical and celebratory. With a team comprised of a founder/curator, a coordinator and a poster designer, Time is love would present an eclectic mix of artists and works that engage the public on a number of levels. By inviting international artists to submit their work according to the theme, Time is love would bring to the world a refreshing new perspective on video art.
Time is love aims to consider the work of these artists as part of the global phenomenon that is contemporary art, and asks the audience to reflect upon how the time that led to the production of these works was formed.
The screening wishes to support and promote the new movements and trends in contemporary culture.
It is a showcasing opportunity for emerging and established artists who are pushing the elements of video and moving image practice. It is also an opportunity for audiences to engage with video works by gaining greater understanding and enjoyment.
The selected videos are innovative works which use technology in ingenious way with narrative, non-narrative, animation, performance or experimental.
Time is love is a non-profit event: works will be screened on a non-profit basis and for cultural purposes only.
After all, everyone needs time and love according to William E. Gladstone " we look forward to the time when the power of love will replace the love of power. Then will our world know the blessings of peace."
